Founder-led strategy shaped by building through the messy middle

Tea Olive Insights is a strategy consultancy for high-growth software companies.

The firm helps leadership teams with product strategy, AI strategy, competitive differentiation, and turning data into product value. The work is designed to be senior, direct, and useful. That means clearer decisions, sharper priorities, and no strategy theater.

Tea Olive Insights reflects a background shaped by building in a vertical SaaS company, scaling through the messy middle, and using data to solve real operating problems. We care about strategy, but not strategy theater. The work needs to hold up in the product, in the roadmap, and in the real decisions leadership teams have to make.

Founder experience is at our core

There is no substitute for experience of a founder with the scars and stories of mistakes and successes.

Tea Olive Insights is led by Taylor Beauchamp, a product and technology leader whose perspective was shaped by building Hotel Effectiveness from the ground up as co-founder and Chief Product Officer. The company focused on labor management software for hotels and grew through bootstrapped stages, scaled meaningfully, and exited to a strategic private equity buyer in 2022.

At Hotel Effectiveness, Taylor led product vision, design, and delivery while working at the intersection of operations, analytics, and software. That combination matters because product strategy is usually only as strong as its understanding of how customers work, where data is useful, and which product decisions genuinely create advantage.

Earlier in Taylor’s career, his work focused in hospitality and travel, including an analytics startup later acquired by STR (CoStar) and leadership roles at IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), where he managed a global team of business analysts and led labor planning and scheduling work at scale.

Today, he advises product and innovation teams strategically. He is an advisor at the Atlanta Tech Village where he mentors founders and startups on the fun of business building. He is a graduate of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. Taylor lives in Atlanta with his wife Jessica and their two children.

Why our background matters

Tea Olive Insights is built around the idea that product, data, and market strategy should not live in separate conversations. Roadmaps get muddy when companies grow and are pulled in different directions by customers and investors. The firm’s point of view is shaped by years of learning hard lessons by making mistakes but by also finding successes by iterating, testing and trying different things. Courage to say No is the best thing a product leader can have. You cannot do it all. There is no time.

We help leadership teams facing consequential product choices

  • High-growth software companies dealing with roadmap complexity after a period of accumulation
  • Teams feeling pressure to respond to AI without a practical plan
  • Companies with valuable data assets that are not creating enough product advantage
  • Markets where competitors sound alike and differentiation has become fuzzy

If the roadmap feels crowded, let's talk

The strongest engagements begin with a real decision that leadership needs to make, not a generic request for advisory.
